Your Feedback on the 2020 Cycle
We designed this survey as an opportunity for anyone to offer feedback on the 2020 application framework as the Carnegie Elective Classification Team begins the careful work of revising the application framework for the 2024 cycle. Our goal is to collect as much public comment as we can to strengthen the application framework for the next cycle. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
2020 Cycle Classification Frameworks
Campuses that had not previously received the classification submitted an application using the 2020 First-time Classification Documentation Framework as a guide. Campuses that received the classification in 2010, and were seeking to retain the classification, submitted an application using the 2020 Reclassification Documentation Framework as a guide. Campuses that received the classification or reclassification in 2015 and were able to reclassify early in the 2020 cycle by going through the standard process and following the established timeline. The Documentation Frameworks contained call-out boxes that provided guidance to assist campuses in the documentation planning process.
In each classification cycle, changes are made to the documentation frameworks. These revisions are incorporated into the existing frameworks and reflect changes in the community engagement field and/or gaps identified in the frameworks. Each cycle the revision process is refined, becomes more formal and includes an increasingly diverse set of contributing mechanisms.More information about the 2020 framework revision process and the plan for 2025 revisions is linked here.
